The aim of the present invention is to provide an apparatus and method for loading a cell into a battery box, the apparatus comprising a fixing unit (11) supporting the ground, a pair of support units (10) respectively formed vertically at both sides of one side portion of the fixing unit (11), an X-axis movement apparatus (60) coupled to the pair of support units (10) so as to be able to ascend and descend and move in the X-axis direction, a cell holding apparatus (70) coupled to the X-axis movement apparatus (60) and holding a plurality of cells, a box rotating apparatus (30) seated on the upper part of the fixing unit (11) and comprising a rotation driving part (20), a Y-axis movement apparatus (40) comprising a box holding apparatus (50) formed over the box rotating apparatus (30), and a cell press-fitting apparatus (90) formed on the upper part of the cell holding unit (70) so as to push down on and thereby press-fit a cell (2) into a battery box (1).

본 발명은 지면을 지지하는 고정대(11)와, 상기 고정대(11)의 일측부 양측에 각각 수직으로 형성되는 한쌍의 지지대(10)와, 상기 한쌍의 지지대(10)에 결합되어 승하강과 X축으로 이동가능한 X축이동장치(60)와, 상기 X축이동장치(60)에 결합되고 다수 개의 셀을 홀딩하는 셀홀딩장치(70)와, 상기 고정대(11) 상부에 안착되되 회전구동부(20)를 구비하는 박스회전장치(30)와, 상기 박스회전장치(30)의 상부측에 형성된 박스홀딩장치(50)를 구비하는 Y축이동장치(40)와, 상기 셀홀딩장치(70)의 상부에 형성되어 셀(2)을 아래로 밀어 배터리박스(1)로 압입하기 위한 셀압입장치(90)를 포함하여 구성되는 배터리박스 내에 셀을 로딩하기 위한 장치 및 방법을 제공하기 위한 것으로, 본 발명은 셀을 로딩하되 하나의 배터리박스만을 제자리에서 회전시키고 Y축으로만 이동시키며, 또 셀홀딩장치는 셀을 X축으로 이동하게 함으로서 셀 로딩장치를 슬림화할 수 있고, 셀 로딩공간은 최소화할 수 있어 공장 면적을 종래 셀로딩장치가 설치된 공장의 면적보다 현저하게 줄일 수 있는 효과를 갖는다.
