We travelled south to Sofifi, still on Halmahera, before we crossed by boat to Kota Ternate, on Ternate Island. Ternate is the most famous and well-known destination in the northern part of the Moluccas, due to the fact that Ternate is one of the famous Spice Islands.

En die regen zou voorlopig niet meer ophouden. We reisden vanuit Foli naar Kota Ternate, de grootste en belangrijkste stad van de Noord-Molukken. Ternate is ongetwijfeld ook de meest bekende bestemming in dit deel van Indonesië, mede vanwege zijn rijke geschiedenis als kruideneiland.
