وأشار رئيس دورة اللجنة السادسة والخمسين في رسالة وجهها إلى رئيس المجلس في 9 آذار/مارس 2001 أن المكتب أدرج في جدول أعماله خلال الفترة الفاصلة بين الدورات بندا خاصا متعلقا بمتابعة توصيات المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي، يتضمن التنسيق بين اللجان الفنية، ومتابعة المؤتمرات العالمية، ودور المكتب.

In a letter to the Council President dated 9 March 2001, the Chairperson of the fifty-sixth session of the Commission noted that the Bureau had included a special item on the follow-up to the Economic and Social Council recommendations in its agenda during the inter-sessional period, including coordination between the functional commissions, global conference follow-up, and the role of the Bureau.

En una carta dirigida al Presidente del Consejo, de fecha 9 de marzo de 2001, el Presidente del 56° período de sesiones de la Comisión señaló que la Mesa, durante el intervalo entre períodos de sesiones, había incluido en su programa un tema especial sobre el cumplimiento de las recomendaciones del Consejo Económico y Social, entre ellas las relativas a la coordinación entre las comisiones orgánicas, el seguimiento de las conferencias mundiales y la función de la Mesa.

Dans une lettre datée du 9 mars 2001, adressée au Président du Conseil, le Président de la cinquante-sixième session de la Commission a noté que le Bureau avait ajouté à son ordre du jour, pendant la période intersessions, un point spécial consacré à la suite donnée aux recommandations du Conseil économique et social portant sur la coordination entre les commissions techniques, la suite donnée aux conférences mondiales et le rôle du Bureau.

В письме на имя Председателя Совета от 9 марта 2001 года Председатель пятьдесят шестой сессии Комиссии отметил, что Бюро включило в межсессионный период в свою повестку дня специальный пункт, посвященный последующим мерам по выполнению рекомендаций Экономического и Социального Совета, включая координацию между функциональными комиссиями, последующую деятельность по итогам всемирных конференций и роль Бюро.
