পিএইচ স্বাধীনতা প্লাজা আর ভূতপূর্ব হোটেল সেন্ট্রাল দায়িত্বহীন রিয়াল এস্টেট উন্নয়নকারীদের শিকারে পরিণত হয়েছে যারা এইসব বিশেষ বাড়ির স্থাপত্য মূল্যমানের সাথে সমঝোতা করেছেন। এরা এই ভবনগুলোর মূল বিষয় ধ্বংস করেছেন (যেমন এদের সিঁড়ি আর উঠোনের অংশ বিশেষ) বা কিছু স্থান যুক্ত করা যা ওই স্থানের সাথে মানায় না (বেশী তলা, যেমন পিএইচ স্বাধীনতা প্লাজার ক্ষেত্রে)। এই সব কিছু ঘটেছে কর্তৃপক্ষের চোখের সামনে, যারা ‘গরম আলুর’ ভুমিকা পালন করেন কিন্তু ঠিকমতো জরিমানা করছেন না ঐতিহ্যের উপর হামলাকারীদের বিরুদ্ধে।

The PH Independence Plaza and the former Hotel Central are the victims of irresponsible real estate developers that have compromised the architectural value of these landmark buildings, destroying their key elements (like its staircase and part of the facade) or by adding spaces that are not in tune with the surroundings (more levels, like in the case of PH Independence Plaza); all this under the eyes of the authorities, which play the game of “hot potato” while not appropriately placing fines on those aggressors of the heritage.

Il PH di Plaza Independencia e lo storico Hotel Central sono vittime di imprenditori immobiliari irresponsabili che hanno compromesso il valore architettonico di questi edifici, autentiche pietre miliari, distruggendo i loro elementi chiave (come la loro scalinata e parte della facciata) o aggiungendo spazi che non sono consoni ai dintorni (aggiungendo più piani, come nel caso del PH di Plaza Independencia); tutto ciò sotto gli occhi delle autorità, che “si passano la palla” e non si decidono a multare come si deve questi aggressori del patrimonio.
