The membership of the USCCB consists of all active and retired Latin Church Catholic and Eastern Catholic bishops (i.e., diocesan, coadjutor, and auxiliary bishops) of the United States and the Territory of the Virgin Islands – and the ordinary of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter – but not the bishops of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Territory of American Samoa, and the Territory of Guam.

La membresía de la USCCB está formada por todos los obispos católicos católicos y católicos orientales activos y jubilados (es decir, obispos diocesanos, coadjutores y auxiliares) de los Estados Unidos y el Territorio de las Islas Vírgenes y el ordinario del Ordinariato Personal La Cátedra de San Pedro, pero no los obispos del Estado Libre Asociado de Puerto Rico, la Comunidad de las Islas Marianas del Norte, el Territorio de Samoa Americana y el Territorio de Guam.
