ولاحظ المكتب وجود أوجه قصور في تجهيز طلبات اللجوء وفي احترام المبادئ الأساسية للحماية الدولية مثل الحق في اللجوء (الوصول إلى الإجراء)، وعدم الإعادة القسرية (عدم الرد وعدم الرفض عند الحدود)، وعدم العقاب على الدخول غير القانوني أو غير المشروع (الاحتجاز التعسفي)، وعدم التمييز.

It has observed shortcomings in the processing of asylum applications and in the observance of the basic principles of international protection such as the right to asylum (access to the procedure), non-refoulement (non-return and non-rejection at the border), non-punishment for illegal or irregular entry (arbitrary detention) and non-discrimination.
