The whole thing from the capture to the release of the animal takes about 20 minutes, but I could certainly never tell you that I have no idea of what is going on around me, what the other people are saying, what they are doing, other than what is right in front of me, which is this beautiful, glossy, rubbery- feeling animal that every now and then let's me know it's OK, because I can feel this kind of body against me, and I can also feel this kind of wet, fishy breath on the side of my face.

Il lavoro, dalla cattura al rilascio dell'animale, dura circa 20 minuti, ma di certo non potrei mai dirvi che non ho idea di cosa avvenga intorno a me, di cosa dicano le altre persone, di cosa facciano, a parte ciò che è davanti a me, ovvero questo bellissimo animale, lucido, gommoso, che ogni tanto mi fa sapere che è tutto ok, perché sento questo corpo addosso al mio, e sento su un lato della faccia un alito bagnato che sa di pesce.

Het vangen en weer vrijlaten van het dier duurt ongeveer 20 minuten, maar dat zou ik nooit kunnen stellen, want ik heb geen idee wat er om me heen gebeurt; wat andere mensen zeggen of doen, anders dan wat er voor me ligt: een prachtig, glimmend, rubberachtig dier, dat me zo nu en dan laat weten dat het goed gaat, omdat ik dat lichaam tegen me aanvoel en ook de natte, naar vis ruikende adem tegen mijn gezicht.
