There are three myths and three realities involved: those of Native Americans, represented by the Pueblo peoples still living in the area on their ancient homelands; Hispanos, many of whom descend from and are nostalgic for the colonial days; and ‘Anglos,’ or everyone else, still called ‘Americanos’ by older people.
