With that goal in mind, the Project and the underlying network are meant to pave the way for a permanent structure of scientific cooperation among those of Iberian and Latin America’s national teams that are actively working on all lines of research connected with the systematic study, inventorying, monitoring and estimation of insect Biodiversity in their respective geographical areas: the Neotropical Region and the Mediterranean Region.

A tal fin, el Proyecto y la red que lo sustenta pretende sentar las bases de una estructura permanente de colaboración científica entre los equipos nacionales de la comunidad iberoamericana, que trabajan activamente en todas las líneas de investigación relacionadas con el estudio sistemático, inventario, monitoreo y estimación de la Biodiversidad de Insectos, en el ámbito de sus respectivas áreas geográficas: la Región Neotropical y la Región Mediterránea.
