Όσον αφορά τη σειρά Fourier, εάν η συνάρτηση είναι τετραγωνικά ολοκληρώσιμη τότε θα συγκλίνει σε τετραγωνικό μέσο όρο, αλλά άλλες πρόσθετες απαιτήσεις που είναι αναγκαίες για να εξασφαλιστεί η σημειακή και ομοιόμορφη σύγκλιση είναι για παράδειγμα, αν η συνάρτηση είναι περιοδική και κατηγορίας C1 τότε η σύγκλιση είναι ομοιόμορφη.

Concerning the Fourier series, if the function is square-integrable then the series converges in quadratic mean, but additional requirements are needed to ensure the pointwise or uniform convergence (for instance, if the function is periodic and of class C1 then the convergence is uniform).
