At the same time, there are also some large dynamically developing towns in the region, such as Kladno and Slaný with their ever more popular aqua parks; Příbram, a flourishing city with the celebrated past of an ancient mining town, dominated by the famous pilgrimage center of Holy Mountain; the picturesque town of Dobříš with its magnificent castle and a park, or Beroun, a town lying at the confluence of Berounka and Litavka rivers and the main gateway to protected landscape areas of the Bohemian Karst and Křivoklát Region.
