Weitere Forschungsthemen der Projektgruppe im Bereich Medizinische Entomologie im Rhein-Main-Gebiet sind Studien zur Artenvielfalt und Häufigkeit der lokalen Stechmücken-Fauna sowie das Verhältnis von Klima und der Populationsdynamik von Fliegen der Familie Muscidae, die als Schädlinge und Lästlinge sowohl im städtischen wie im ländlichen Raum von großer Bedeutung sind.

The research will yield valuable baseline data on tick population parameters that are needed for subsequent analyses of the environmental factors determining tick abundance. Additional research projects on medically relevant arthropods in the Rhein-Main area include studies about the diversity and abundance of the local mosquitoes as well as on the relationship between climate and the population dynamics of muscid flies, an important group of urban pests.
