Μετά την εγκατάλειψη της Ρωμαϊκής Δακίας στους Γότθους από τον Αυρηλιανό (270-275) και τη μεταφορά των Ρωμαίων πολιτών από την πρώην επαρχία στα νότια του Δούναβη, το κεντρικό τμήμα της Μοισίας πήρε το όνομα της Αυρηλιανής Δακίας (Dacia Aureliana) (που στη συνέχεια χωρίστηκε σε Δακία Παραποτάμια (Dacia Ripensis) και Εσωτερική Δακία (Dacia Mediterranea).

After the abandonment of Roman Dacia to the Goths by Aurelian (270–275) and the transfer of the Roman citizens from the former province to the south of the Danube, the central portion of Moesia took the name of Dacia Aureliana (later divided into Dacia Ripensis and Dacia Mediterranea).
