Seit der erstchristlichen Zeit haben sich der Predigerstand und Teile des Marmortempels gerettet, im Inneren der Kirche gibt es den Altar auf Säulen bzw. auf einem bischöflichen Thron. Sowohl im Inneren der Kirche als auch um diese befinden sich verschiedene Kapellen, die älteste davon ist die des Heiligen Nikolaus, von der erzählt wird, dass sie nach 313 bzw. vor 326 gebaut wurde. Eine Seltenheit unter byzantinischen Bauwerken und einzigartig in Griechenland ist das Taufbecken, die Kapelle mit dem kreuzförmigen gebauten Marmortaufbecken.

Protochristian remnants include the pulpit and parts of the marble iconostasis (screen), while inside the altar there is the Holy Table (Agia Trapeza) covered with a 'ciborium' supported by four columns and a marble built-in episcopal 'synthronon'. Inside the church and around it there are various chapels, the oldest one dedicated to St. Nicholas (Agios Nikolaos), which must have been built sometime after the decree of 313 A.D. proclaiming religious tolerance and before 326 A.D. One rare item in Byzantine church architecture and indeed unique in Greece is the Baptistry, a chapel housing a cross-shaped marble built-in baptismal font.
