The Armenian Social Investment Fund (ASIF) was established with the technical and financial support of the World Bank in the mid-90s and since then has provided significant assistance in rehabilitation of social and economic infrastructure of the country, contributing to the development of the needy communities. Since 1996, three projects have been designed and implemented including the ongoing SIF III project that will be closed in June 2014 with the total amount of $US 83 million.

Հայաստանի սոցիալական ներդրումների հիմնադրամը (ՀՍՆՀ) ստեղծվել է 90-ականների կեսերին՝ Համաշխարհային բանկի տեխնիկական եւ ֆինանսական օժանդակությամբ եւ այդ ժամանակվանից սկսած զգալի աջակցություն է ցուցաբերել երկրի սոցիալ-տնտեսական ենթակառուցվածքի վերականգնմանը՝ նպաստելով կարիքավոր համայնքների զարգացմանը: 1996 թ. սկսած նախագծվել եւ իրականացվել են 83 միլիոն ԱՄՆ դոլար ընդհանուր գումարով երեք ծրագրեր, այդ թվում՝ ընթացիկ ՀՍՆՀ III ծրագիրը, որն ավարտվելու է 2014 թ. հունիսին:
