During the period under review, the airline LanChile continued to provide regular round trip service from Punta Arenas (Chile) to the Falkland Islands (Malvinas), including two monthly stop-overs in Rio Gallegos (Argentina), one in each direction, in accordance with the provisions of the Joint Statement of 14 July 1999, the Exchange of Notes annexed to it and Decree 1179/02, issued by the President of Argentina on 4 July 2002.
