Regel 8 in Artikel 2 "Definitionen" des Internationalen Übereinkommens von 1969 über das Tonnagemaß der Fahrzeuge (Londoner Übereinkommen) - dieses Übereinkommen ist nach Artikel 4 Absatz 1 der Verordnung (EWG) Nr. 2029/86 für die Messung der Tonnage der Fischereifahrzeuge der Gemeinschaft anwendbar - lautet: "Länge" bedeutet 96 Prozent der Gesamtlänge in einer Wasserlinie bei 85 % der geringsten gemallten Tiefe, gemessen von der Kielspitze, oder aber die Länge von der Vorkante des Vorstevens bis zur Achse des Ruderschaftes in der genannten Wasserlinie, sofern sie grösser ist.

Rule 8 of Article 2 - Definitions - of the 1969 International Convention on Tonnage Measurement of Ships ('the London Convention') (the Convention which applies to the tonnage of Community fishing vessels pursuant to Article 4(1) of Regulation (EEC) No 2930/86) states, 'Length' means 96 per cent of the total length on a waterline at 85 per cent of the least moulded depth measured from the top of the keel, or the length from the foreside of the stem to the axis of the rudder stock on that waterline, if that be greater.

A regra 8 do artigo 2o «definições» da Convenção Internacional de 1969 sobre a Arqueação dos Navios (Convenção de Londres) - convenção aplicável à arqueação dos navios de pesca comunitários nos termos do no 1 do artigo 4o do Regulamento (CEE) no 2930/86 - dispõe o seguinte: «Comprimento» significa um comprimento igual a 96% do comprimento total, medido sobre uma linha de água situada a uma altura acima da quilha, igual a 85% do pontal mínimo de construção medido a partir da face superior da quilha, ou o comprimento medido da face de vante da roda de proa até ao eixo da madre do leme naquela linha de água, se este comprimento for maior.
