Besondere Beachtung wurden dem sogenannten negativen Ausfall der Kontrastmitteldiagnostik, Fehldeutungen von Verlagerungssymptomen, technisch unvollkommene Angiogramme und Encephalogramme, seltener Lokalisation (Thalamus und Kleinhirnbrückenwinkel) sowie der Abgrenzung gegenüber andersartigen Entzündungen und der Verschleierung durch vorangegangene antibiotische Therapie geschenkt.

Special attention was given to the apparently “negative” result of contrast medium diagnostic techniques, to misinterpretation of symptoms arising from displacement, to incomplete angiograms and encephalograms, to rare sites for the abscesses (e. g. thalamus and cerebellopontine angle), as well as to the differentiation from other types of infection, and to masking by preceding antibiotic treatment.

Se presta una atención especial a los resultados aparentemente negativos obtenidos con técnicas con medios de contraste, con las falsas interpretaciones de signos de desplazamiento, arteriografias y pneumoencefalografías incompletas, localizaciones raras de abscesos (tálamo, angulo ponto-cerebeloso) así como a la diferenciación con otros tipos de infecciones enmascaradas con tratamientos antibióticos previos.

Une attention spéciale est donnée au résultat apparemment négatif des techniques de diagnostic par moyen de contraste, avec les mauvaises interprétations des signes correspondant au déplacement, aux angiographies et électroencéphalographies incomplètes, aux rares localisations d'abcès (thalamus, angle ponto-cérébelleux) comme à la différentiation des autres types d'infection masqués par un traitement antibiotique préalable.

Particolare attenzione viene riposta nei cosidetti quadri negativi negli esami con mezzo di contrasto, negli angiogrammi e negli encefalogrammi tecnicamente non ben riusciti, nelle localizzazioni rare (talamo ed augolo ponto-cerebellare), nelle zone di confine con processi infiammatori di altro genere e negli stati di obnubilamento di coscienza in corso di terapia antibiotica.
