ويؤكد القضاة من جديد أن المهمة الأساسية لقضاء مستقل تتمثل في تطبيق وتفسير الأحكام القانونية التي سبق وأن وافق عليها المشرع، وفي تطبيقها وتفسيرها في سياق نظام العدل الداخلي، وفقا للقانون الدولي وسيادة القانون على وفقاً للتكليف الصادر من الجمعية العامة في القرار 63/253.

The judges reiterate that the core function of an independent judiciary is to apply and interpret legal provisions previously approved by the legislator, in the context of the internal justice system, in accordance with international law and the rule of law, as mandated by the General Assembly in its resolution 63/253.

Los magistrados reiteran que la función básica de un poder judicial independiente es aplicar e interpretar las disposiciones jurídicas aprobadas anteriormente por el legislador, en el contexto del sistema interno de justicia, de conformidad con el derecho internacional y el estado de derecho, con arreglo a lo dispuesto por la Asamblea General en su resolución 63/253.
