In each transect mangrove trees were identified and counted. The total height and the diameter at breast height (DBH) of the trees were measured and subsequently the basal area, density and Importance Value Index (IVI) calculated.

En cada uno de éstos se identificaron y contaron los árboles de mangle, midiéndoles altura total y diámetro a la altura del pecho (DAP) y se calculó el área basal, la densidad y el índice de Valor de Importancia (IVI).
