The aims are to develop new composite materials, composed especially of vegetal fibers and biobased matrices, integrating transductor networks that confer upon the structures the capacity of self-surveillance, to adapt and interact with their environment, to collect and store ambient energy, etc. A few examples of the scientific and technological locks currently being studied: the multiscale characterization and modeling of the behavior of composite materials made from vegetal fibers, the development of components from biobased thermoplastic polymers, architecturing of the materials and structures for optimal and adaptable vibroacoustic behavior, the development of microactuator networks to generate structure-borne waves for aerial surveillance and for noise control.

Les recherches menées visent en effet à développer de nouveaux matériaux composites, notamment constitués de fibres végétales et matrices biosourcées, intégrant des réseaux de transducteurs qui confèrent aux structures des capacités d’auto-surveillance, d’interactions adaptatives avec leur environnement, de collecte et stockage d’énergie ambiante... Les verrous scientifiques et technologiques étudiés sont par exemple la caractérisation et la modélisation multi-échelles du comportement des matériaux composites à fibres végétales, l’élaboration de composants à partir de polymères thermoplastiques biosourcés, l’architecturation de matériaux et structures pour un comportement vibroacoustique optimal et adaptable, le développement de réseaux de micro-actionneurs pour générer des ondes solidiennes pour la surveillance et aériennes pour le contrôle du bruit.
