تحث منظومة الأمم المتحدة على زيادة دعمها لأفريقيا في تنفيذ الإعلان الصادر عن اجتماع القمة الاستثنائي لمؤتمر رؤساء دول وحكومات منظمة الوحدة الأفريقية بشأن فيروس نقص المناعة البشرية/الإيدز والسل وغير ذلك من الأمراض المعدية ذات الصلة()، وإعلان الالتزام المتعلق بفيروس نقص المناعة البشرية/الإيدز، لكي يتسنى وقف انتشار هذه الأمراض بوسائل منها بناء القدرات على أسس سليمة في مجال الموارد البشرية؛

Urges the United Nations system to increase its support for Africa in the implementation of the declaration of the extraordinary summit meeting of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the Organization of African Unity on HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and other related infectious diseases, and the Declaration of Commitment on HIV/AIDS, so as to arrest the spread of these diseases, inter alia, through sound capacity-building in human resources

Insta al sistema de las Naciones Unidas a que preste un mayor apoyo a África para la aplicación de la declaración de la cumbre extraordinaria de la Asamblea de Jefes de Estado y de Gobierno de la Organización de la Unidad Africana sobre el VIH/SIDA, la tuberculosis y otras enfermedades infecciosas conexas, y la Declaración de compromiso en la lucha contra el VIH/SIDA, a fin de frenar la propagación de esas enfermedades, entre otras cosas mediante una sólida labor de creación de capacidad de recursos humanos
