ويتبين من إحصاءات وزارة الصحة أنه في الفترة قيد الاستعراض، كان أكثر المتضررين من فيروس نقص المناعة البشرية/الإيدز والأمراض المنقولة عن طريق الاتصال الجنسي هم الشباب والفتيات في العمر الإنجابي، وكانت هذه الأمراض هي ثاني أكبر أسباب الوفاة للذكور والإناث في مجموعة العمر 15 إلى 24 سنة.
