The members of the Security Council have carefully considered your letter dated 30 January 2008 (S/2008/60), regarding the request of the Government of Lebanon for technical assistance from the International Independent Investigation Commission in the effort to investigate the murder of Major Wissam Eid of the Internal Security Forces, Adjutant Oussama Merheb and other civilians.
