The susceptibility gene for hair shapes is a gene on the 11q12.2-11q13.2 regions (D11S4191 and D11S987) of the human chromosome 11 in which an allele frequency is determined by the linkage disequilibrium analysis of a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) marker with differing statistical significance between a group with unruly hair characteristics and a group with non-unruly hair characteristics, and which overlaps with a haplotype block comprising a base sequence represented by any of SEQ ID NO: 1-5; and is a gene comprising either a portion or all of the base sequence in said haplotype block.

Le gène de susceptibilité selon l'invention est un gène situé sur les zones 11q12.2-11q13.2 (D11S4191 et D11S987) du chromosome humain 11 dans lequel une fréquence d'allèle est déterminée par l'analyse de déséquilibre de liaisons d'un marqueur de polymorphisme mononucléotidique (SNP) avec une signification statistique différente entre un groupe présentant des caractéristiques de cheveux indisciplinés et un groupe présentant des caractéristiques de cheveux non indisciplinés, et qui se chevauche avec un bloc haplotype contenant une séquence de bases représentée par SEQ ID NO: 1, 2, 3, 4 ou 5.
