Wherefore as the nascentchurchrightly joined itself in prayer with her as the patroness and most excellent custodian of Unity, so in these times is it most opportune to do the same all over the Catholic World, particularly during the whole month of October, which we have long ago decreed to be dedicated and consecrated, by the solemn devotion of the Rosary, to the Divine Mother, in order to implore her for the afflicted Church.

Come, dunque, la Chiesa nascente giustamente si unì nella preghiera a lei — fautrice e nobile custode dell’unità —, è quanto mai opportuno che altrettanto si faccia ai nostri giorni in tutto il mondo cattolico, specialmente durante il mese di ottobre, che Noi, già da lungo tempo, abbiamo voluto dedicato e consacrato alla divina Madre, con la recita solenne del Rosario, per implorarne l’aiuto nelle presenti angustie della Chiesa.

Ut igitur ad eam, tamquam ad unitatis fautricem et custodem eximiam, recte se Ecclesia exoriens precando adiunxit, id similiter his temporibus per orbem catholicum fieri peropportunum est; toto praesertim octobri, quem mensem iamdiu Nos divinae Matri, pro afflictis Ecclesiae temporibus implorandae, deditum sacrumque solemni Rosarii ritu voluimus.— Proinde caleat ubique huiusmodi precis studium, ad propositum in primis sanctae unitatis.

Portanto, assim como a Igreja nascente justamente se uniu na oração a ela - a mais nobre fautora e guardiã da unidade, - o mais possível oportuno é que outro tanto façam, nos nossos dias, os católicos; especialmente durante o mês de Outubro, que Nós, já de longa data, temos querido dedicado e consagrado à divina Mãe, com a recitação solene do Rosário, para implorar o auxílio dela nas presentes angústias da Igreja.
