In order to enhance the development and impact of ICRI, UNEP assisted in the transfer of the ICRI secretariat functions from the co-host partners Sweden and the Philippines to the new joint host Governments, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Seychelles, which took place in July 2003.
