The outcome of its work was the adoption of the Ouagadougou Declaration, which recommended, inter alia, the undertaking of structural economic reforms to support growth, encourage local savings and boost investment in the private sector; the promotion of dialogue and cooperation between all parties working for poverty reduction; the implementation of the 20/20 initiative and the establishment of a system to monitor the completeness rates of allocated credit and to create follow-up committees in those countries that do not yet have them; and the strengthening of capacity to absorb the principles and practices of democracy and good governance.

Al final de los trabajos, se aprobó la Declaración de Uagadugú, en la que se formularon varias recomendaciones, entre otras, la de emprender reformas económicas estructurales a fin de mantener el crecimiento; estimular el ahorro local y las inversiones del sector privado; reforzar el diálogo y la colaboración entre todos los actores que trabajan para reducir la pobreza; poner en práctica la iniciativa de 20/20; instituir un sistema de supervisión del ritmo de completamiento de los créditos otorgados y crear un comité de seguimiento en los países que todavía no lo hubieran hecho; y tratar de reforzar la capacidad de incorporación de los principios y las prácticas de democracia y buena gestión pública.

По итогам работы этой конференции была принята Декларация Уагадугу, в которой рекомендовалось, в частности проведение структурных экономических реформ в поддержку роста, поощрение местных сбережений и наращивание инвестиций в частный сектор; содействие диалогу и сотрудничеству между всеми сторонами, участвующими в деятельности по сокращению масштабов нищеты; осуществление инициативы 20/20 и создание системы контроля за расходованием выделяемых кредитов и комитетов по осуществлению последующей деятельности в тех странах, в которых они еще не созданы; и укрепление возможностей по реализации принципов и практики демократии и рационального управления.
