With regard to subaquatic heritage, the executive branch recently issued a decree on the reception of new applications from private individuals to search national or foreign vessels sunk, half sunk or run aground in waters under national jurisdiction, on the understanding that these form part of the non-renewable national heritage that must be preserved for present and future generations of Uruguayans.

En relación con el patrimonio subacuático, recientemente el poder ejecutivo emitió un decreto relativo a la recepción de nuevas solicitudes de búsqueda promovidas por particulares en las embarcaciones nacionales o extranjeras hundidas, semihundidas o varadas en las aguas de jurisdicción nacional, en el entendido de que estas forman parte del acervo nacional no renovable, que debe ser preservado para el pueblo uruguayo de hoy y para las futuras generaciones.

En ce qui concerne le patrimoine subaquatique, le pouvoir exécutif a récemment publié un décret relatif à la réception de nouvelles demandes formulées par des particuliers en vue de rechercher les épaves d'embarcations nationales ou étrangères submergées, à moitié submergées ou échouées dans les eaux territoriales, étant entendu que ces épaves font partie du patrimoine national non renouvelable et qu'elles doivent être préservées pour le peuple uruguayen d'aujourd'hui et pour les générations à venir.
