As the State has not had any specific provisions regarding the consultation of indigenous peoples, it has applied those contained in the Constitution (arts. 225, 226 and 228), the regulations on environmental assessment, control and monitoring (Government Order No. 431-2007 and amendments thereto), the Urban and Rural Development Councils Act (arts. 6, 8, 10, 12 and 14) and the Municipal Code (arts. 20 and 55–59).

El Estado, al no contar con una disposición específica sobre la consulta a los pueblos indígenas, ha aplicado disposiciones normativas contenidas en la Constitución de la República de Guatemala (arts. 225, 226 y 228), Reglamento de Evaluación, Control y Seguimiento Ambiental (Acuerdo Gubernativo 431-2007 y sus reformas), Ley de Consejos de Desarrollo Urbano y Rural (arts. 6, 8, 10, 12 y 14) y Código Municipal (arts. 20 y 55 a 59).
