The connection abnormality detection method has: a step for acquiring topology information of the network system; a port control step for blocking or opening the ports of each slave device in a manner so as to form a series topology with the slave device of interest as the furthest downstream slave device; a step for transmitting inspection data after port control; and a step for detecting connection abnormalities of the devices on the basis of the return status of the inspection data.
