As with any web application, webmail's main advantage over the use of a desktop email client is the ability to send and receive email anywhere from a web browser.

Webmail คือ โปรแกรมบริการรับ-ส่งเมล์ที่ติดตั้งอยู่บน server โดยสามารถเรียกใช้งานเพื่อรับและส่งเมล์ผ่าน web browser ได้ การติดตั้ง Webmail นี้คงเหมาะสําหรับ คนที่มี server เป็นของตัวเอง และต้องการจัดทํา webmail ให้กับหน่วยงานของตัวเอง แทนที่จะไปใช้ webmail ที่อื่นๆ เช่น พวก Hotmail และ Yahoo mail เป็นต้น
