The third round of the 2009 World Touring Car Championship season was held there on 3 May 2009, becoming the first international car race in Morocco since the 1958 Moroccan Grand Prix at the Ain-Diab Circuit in Casablanca and the first event for the WTCC in Africa.

La tercera ronda prevista de la Campeonato Mundial de Turismos 2009 se disputó en el circuito urbano el 3 de mayo. Fue la primera carrera automovilística internacional en Marruecos desde el Gran Premio de Marruecos en el Circuito de Ain-Diab en Casablanca el año 1958.
