These plans were for a large domed building with two subsidiary side buildings, housing all three branches of government: legislative, executive and judicial, giving rise to the plural in the official title still used today.

Les plans d'origine, prévoyant un grand bâtiment à coupole doté de deux bâtiments de moindre importance sur les côtés, censés abriter les trois branches du gouvernement - législative, exécutive et judiciaire -conduisirent à mettre le mot « bâtiment » au pluriel dans le titre officiel, ce qui est d'ailleurs encore le cas aujourd'hui.
