Der Weg zur sichtbaren Einheit aller Christen liegt im Gebet, weil im Grunde nicht wir die Einheit »bauen«, sondern Gott sie »baut«: Sie kommt von ihm, vom dreifaltigen Geheimnis, aus der Einheit des Vaters mit dem Sohn im Dialog der Liebe, dem Heiligen Geist, und unser ökumenisches Bemühen muß sich dem göttlichen Wirken gegenüber öffnen, es muß zur täglichen Bitte um Gottes Hilfe werden.

The path that leads to the visible unity of all Christians lies in prayer, because, fundamentally, it is not we who “build” unity but God who “builds” it, it comes from him, from the Trinitarian Mystery, from the unity of the Father with the Son in the dialogue of love, which is the Holy Spirit; and our ecumenical commitment must be open to divine action, it must become a daily invocation for God's help.

El camino hacia la unidad visible entre todos los cristianos habita en la oración, porque fundamentalmente la unidad no la «construimos» nosotros, sino que la «construye» Dios, viene de él, del Misterio trinitario, de la unidad del Padre con el Hijo en el diálogo de amor que es el Espíritu Santo, y nuestro compromiso ecuménico debe abrirse a la acción divina, debe hacerse invocación diaria de la ayuda de Dios.

Hod prema vidljivom jedinstvu svih kršćana počiva u molitvi, jer temeljno jedinstvo ne "izgrađujemo" mi, već ga "gradi" Bog, ono dolazi od njega, od trinitarnog misterija, od jedinstva Oca sa Sinom u dijalogu ljubavi koji je Duh Sveti i naše se ekumensko zauzimanje mora otvoriti Božjem djelovanju, mora se pretvoriti u svakodnevno zazivanje Božje pomoći.

O caminho rumo à unidade visível entre todos os cristãos habita na oração porque, fundamentalmente, a unidade não somos nós que a «costruímos», mas é Deus que a «constrói», deriva dele, do Mistério trinitário, da unidade do Pai com o Filho no diálogo de amor que é o Espírito Santo, e o nosso compromisso ecuménico deve abrir-se à obra divina, deve fazer-se invocação quotidiana da ajuda de Deus.
