Er studiert u.a. mit E. Pascu, M. Kliegel und I. Moniguetti an der Musikhochschule Reina Sofia in Madrid. Schon bald wird er bekannt, nachdem er die ersten Preise für Violoncello und Kammermusik bei Wettbewerben für junge Musiker ‚Concursos Nacionales de Juventudes Musicales’ (1987-1989) gewinnt.

Polo studied with E. Pascu, M. Kliegel and I. Moniguetti, amongst others, at the Reina Sofía Higher School of Music, coming to the fore when he took first prizes in violoncello and chamber music in the National Youth Competitions (1987-1989).
