Javier Benjumea Puigcerver, su fundador, fue quien estableció una sincera e intensa amistad con Pérez Sánchez, desarrollando a partir de entonces buena parte de sus proyectos científicos en la fundación, en colaboración con su discípulo Benito Navarrete y con el continuo apoyo de Anabel Morillo, directora de la misma y fiel seguidora de los postulados de Alfonso, por eso cobra tanta importancia y emoción este merecido homenaje al hombre que ha dado tanto por el Prado y por la Fundación.
