Als Folge radialer Druckbeanspruchung von Kambium und jüngstem Xylem durch Laufräder und Abweiser der KS 31 zeigten sich bei der Fichte—unabhängig vom Ästungstermin—stark gehäufte Anlage von Harzkanälen im Holzzuwachs des Ästungsbzw. Folgejahres, reduzierte Jahrringbreiten und verminderter Spätholzanteil.

As a result of the radial compression on cambium and youngest xylem by the wheels and the knob of the KS 31, the spruce showed significantly more resin ducts in the wood of the pruning and the following year, respectively; furthermore it showed reduced annual ring widths, and a minor portion of summerwood.
