According to the thus-configured waste treatment system connected to a sewage treatment plant, organic wastes can be dried using the waste heat power generation generated in the process of generating electric power by high-temperature water vapors generated during the high-temperature incineration of the organic wastes, a sewage treatment can be performed using the waste heat power generation generated in the process of generating electric power by low-temperature water vapors generated during the low-temperature incineration of combustible wastes, and the offensive odor generated in the organic waste drying plant or in the sewage treatment plant can be removed by incinerating the offensive odor in a high-temperature incinerating device or in a low-temperature incinerating device.

하수처리시설과 연계된 폐기물 처리시스템은 유기성 폐기물을 건조시켜 저장하는 유기성 폐기물 공급부와, 가연성 폐기물을 공급하는 가연성 폐기물 공급부와, 유기성 폐기물 공급부로부터 공급되는 유기성 폐기물을 고온 연소시키는 제1 연소장치와, 상기 가연성 폐기물 공급부로부터 공급되는 가연성 폐기물을 저온 연소시키는 제2 연소장치와, 상기 제1 연소장치와 연결되어 고온의 수증기로 인해 고효율 열병합발전을 하는 제1 발전장치와, 상기 제2 연소장치와 연결되어 저온의 수증기로 인해 저효율 열병합발전을 하는 제2 발전장치와, 제1 발전장치 및 제2 발전장치로부터의 폐열을 이용하여 온수를 생성하여 하수처리시설 및 유기성 폐기물 공급부로 공급하는 온수 생성부를 포함한다. 이와 같이 구성되는 하수처리시설과 연계된 폐기물 처리시스템에 의하면, 유기성 폐기물의 고온소각시 발생된 고온의 수증기를 이용하여 전력을 생산하는 과정에서 발생된 발전폐열을 이용하여 유기성 폐기물을 건조시킬 수 있으며, 가연성 폐기물의 저온 소각시 발생된 저온의 수증기를 이용하여 전력을 생산하는 과정에서 발생된 발전폐열을 이용하여 하수처리에 이용할 수 있고, 유기성 폐기물 건조설비나 하수처리시설에서 발생된 악취를 고온의 소각장치나 저온의 소각장치에서 소각시켜 제거할 수 있는 효과가 있다.
