This study built on an earlier study by MacLeod and Shin, which investigated the needs of immigrant and refugee women who are abused from the perspective of service providers.25 Other studies reviewed included one for the India Mahila Association26 and the proceedings from the Information Session with Ethnocultural Community on Family Violence held in Ottawa, March 1994.
