ومع انحسار الحرب الأهلية المأساوية، ينبغي للطرفين ولشعب السودان الحرص، بأقصى قدر ممكن، على اغتنام الفرص التي تتيحها أحكام اتفاق السلام الشامل خلال الجزء المتبقي من الفترة الانتقالية لتوطيد السلام، وتجاوز العداوات والخلافات، والبدء في عملية بناء مجتمع ينعم بالعدل والديمقراطية والازدهار.

As the tragic civil war years recede, the parties and the people of the Sudan should, to the maximum extent possible, actively seize the opportunities afforded by the provisions of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement during the remainder of the interim period, in order to consolidate the peace, overcome current animosities and divisions, and begin the process of building a just, democratic and prosperous society.

A medida que se van alejando los trágicos años de la guerra civil, las partes y el pueblo del Sudán deberían, en la mayor medida posible, aprovechar efectivamente las oportunidades que ofrecen las disposiciones del Acuerdo General de Paz durante el resto del período de transición para consolidar el proceso de paz, superar las animosidades y divisiones actuales y comenzar el proceso de crear una sociedad justa, democrática y próspera.
