Provided is a method for surface-treating a semiconductor substrate to thereby reduce loss of minority carriers caused by surface recombination and improve the lifetime, said surface-treatment method comprising a hydrogen treatment step for hydrogen-terminating dangling bonds on the surface of the conductor substrate, and a hot water-treatment step for contacting the surface of said semiconductor substrate, the dangling bonds of which have been hydrogen-terminated as described above, with hot water containing an acid additive and an alkali additive and having a pH value equal to or lower than 7.

L'invention concerne un procédé servant à traiter en surface un substrat semi-conducteur afin de réduire la perte des porteurs de minorité causée par la recombinaison de surface et d'augmenter la longévité, ledit procédé de traitement de surface comprenant une étape de traitement à l'hydrogène servant à raccorder à un hydrogène les liaisons pendantes sur la surface du substrat conducteur, et une étape de traitement à l'eau chaude servant à mettre en contact la surface dudit substrat semi-conducteur, dont les liaisons pendantes ont été raccordées à un hydrogène comme décrit ci-dessus et, avec de l'eau chaude contenant un additif acide et un additif alcalin dont la valeur de pH est égale ou inférieure à 7.
