Both this work and his marriage attracted lots of criticism. On the artistic side he responded with two minor yet elegant and interesting works, La Critique de �École des femmes� (in which he imagined the spectators of his previous work having assisted to it) and L'Impromptu de Versailles (about Molière's troupe prepaing an improvisation).
