P and S wave arrival differential time data, registered at different stations in the Valley, suggest great lateral and vertical heterogeneity in the upper lithosphere, and great amounts of calc-alkaline igneous material within the crust, in consistent intercalation with the metamorphic basement, even beneath locations where no outcrops of igneous rocks are reported.

Datos de diferencia de tiempos entre las llegadas de la onda S y la onda P a los diferentes instrumentos de registro sísmico en el Valle, indican una gran heterogeneidad lateral y vertical en la litosfera superior, y una gran presencia de material ígneo calcoalcalino al interior de la corteza, intercalado con el basamento metamórfico, incluso en zonas donde no hay cuerpos ígneos reportados en superficie.
