Fuel gas is any one of a number of fuels that under ordinary conditions are gaseous. Many fuel gases are composed of hydrocarbons (such as methane, biogas or propane), hydrogen, carbon monoxide, or mixtures thereof. Such gases are sources of potential heat energy or light energy that can be readily transmitted and distributed through pipes from the point of origin directly to the place of consumption.

แก๊สเชื้อเพลิง แก๊สเชื้อเพลิง เป็นเชื้อเพลิงแบบหนึ่งที่ในสภาวะปกติอยู่ในรูปของแก๊ส ประกอบด้วยสารไฮโดรคาร์บอน (เช่น มีเทน หรือ โพรเพน) บวกกับไฮโดรเจน, คาร์บอนมอนอกไซด์ หรือสารประกอบอื่นๆ เป็นสารทีใช้สร้างพลังงานความร้อนหรือพลังงานแสงสว่างและสามารถส่งตามท่อออกจากแหล่งผลิตได้ แก๊สเชื้อเพลิงจะต้องถูกเติมกลิ่นเข้าไป เพื่อเตือนผู้ใช้หากเกิดการรั่วไหลเกิดขึ้น ในปัจจุบัน แก๊สที่ใช้ส่วนใหญ่คือ แก๊สธรรมชาติ
