El cultivo combinado de arroz y peces en China, las antiguas terrazas de arroz en las montañas de Filipinas, los sistemas agroforestales y los huertos familiares en Asia y América Latina, los sitios andinos (las terrazas o el Lago Titicaca, entre otros) en el corredor Cusco y Puno en el Perú, y la gestión integrada de los recursos en la isla de Chiloé en Chile, no son sino algunos ejemplos y pruebas de gestión sostenible de los recursos naturales de los SIPAM en los que la protección y el respeto de los suelos se ha transmitido de generación en generación.
