The present invention relates to a whole cell catalytic system for the preparation of an enantiomerically enriched α-amino acid from a corresponding hydantoin wherein hydantoinase, L-carbamoylase and hydantoin racemase are coexpressed in a recombinant micro-organism wherein the genes coding for these three enzymes are located on a single replicon.

La présente invention porte sur un système catalytique de cellules entières pour la préparation d'un acide α-aminé énantiomériquement enrichi à partir d'une hydantoïne correspondante, dans lequel l'hydantoïnase, la L-carbamoylase et l'hydantoïne racémase sont co-exprimées dans un micro-organisme recombinant, les gènes codant pour ces trois enzymes étant situés sur un seul réplicon.
