While welcoming the State partys initiatives and programmes in the field of adolescent health, in particular those of the National Programme of Prevention to Adolescent Mothers and the National Council for the Prevention and Control of HIV/AIDS (CONASIDA), the Committee remains concerned at the high teenage maternal mortality rate and the high number of teenage pregnancies.

Aunque acoge con satisfacción las iniciativas y programas del Estado Parte en la especialidad de salud de la adolescencia, en particular las actividades del Programa Nacional de Atención a Madres Adolescentes y del Consejo Nacional de Prevención y Control del Sida (CONASIDA), el Comité sigue preocupado por la elevada tasa de mortalidad materna entre las adolescentes y el alto número de embarazos registrados en este grupo de población.
