يوفر القضاء السوري كل الضمانات التي تكفل حقوق الأشخاص الذين يواجهون حكم الإعدام، حيث يمكن لمن حكم عليه بالإعدام أن يطعن في الحكم لدى محكمة النقض، وإن لم يطعن المحكوم فإن المادة 240 أصول جزائية توجب على النيابة العامة الطعن.

The Syrian legislation in force provides all the guarantees needed to safeguard the rights of persons facing the death penalty as such persons can lodge an appeal with the Court of Cassation against their sentence and, if they fail to lodge such an appeal, article 240 of the Code of Criminal Procedure places the Department of Public Prosecutions under an obligation to lodge an appeal on their behalf.

En la legislación en vigor en Siria se establecen todas las garantías necesarias para proteger los derechos de los condenados a la pena de muerte, dado que éstos pueden recurrir el fallo ante el Tribunal de Casación y, si no lo hacen, en el artículo 240 del Código de Procedimiento Penal se obliga al ministerio fiscal a recurrir en su nombre.

La législation syrienne institue toutes les garanties nécessaires pour protéger les droits de tout individu condamné à mort, qui peut former un pourvoi en cassation. Si le condamné ne forme pas un tel pourvoi, l’article 240 du Code de procédure pénale fait obligation au ministère public de le faire.
