وقد أصبح انعدام الثقة والأمن والتشريعات الوطنية المتسقة، بالإضافة إلى تزايد عدد جرائم الشبكة المبلَّغ عنها، والفيروسات، والإعلانات غير المرغوب فيها عبر الشبكة، وحالات التدليس، عائقاً أساسياً أمام تنمية اقتصاد المعلومات.
